Consistent with the first black label Chardonnay we made in 2020, this is a more concentrated and driven style. The wine has deep layers of lemon rind, lemon curd and cinnamon spice with refreshing acidity.

A solid harvest has given us a greater range of blending potential leading to a very layered wine. The intensely concentrated fruit flavours and powerful tannins are a reflection of the ideal growing season and summer.

Subtle flavours reflective of the aromas – particularly citrus fruits, sulphides and elegant oak. The wine has a soft middle palate with good length and refreshing acid.

The complex flavours reflect the aromas. Quite rich overall with a soft entry, sweet fruit mid palate and a lingering finish with good acid and tannin balance. Slightly more full bodied than the previous two vintages.
